The Big 3, But for How Long

The executives from the Big 3 spent this week rattling their tin cups on Capital Hill anxious for a $25 billion dollar bail out. Guess they should have left the Lear jets back in Michigan. The Senate was just waiting for these pompus jerks to waddle off their expensive company jets wih their hands out. The fact is, corporate America has been splurging for along time and it has finally caught up with them. The economy is in a downward spiral with no sign of the bottom in sight. The business model used by the Big 3 is out of date and out of touch with the needs of today's global market. While I myself would never buy a foreign automobile, many Americans today are and have been very pleased with their purchases. We need to build them better, more efficient, and at a better cost to the consumer (the American people). As a Michigan resident, I can only image the hell that this state will face if one of the automakers goes under. The UAW is much to blame for the demise of te Big 3 though. For years, they have taken advantage of their employers. Now, these same people may be out a job if the Federal government doesn't step in. Can the US economy handle the loss of one of the largest companies in the world? The execs will be back in Washington following the Thanksgiving recess for the Senate. When they come to town this time, they better fly coach, or better yet, carpool.

A New Regime and Your Money

Well Election Day has come and gone and we all know the outcome. Regardless of your feelings, we as a Nation could not afford 4 more years of a George Bush lover like John Mccain. Now I am far from Obama's biggest fan, but I feel he is the lesser of two evils. I am optomistic that he can enact legislation that can spur on ths slumping US economy and put money back in the pockets of the American people. Like many Americans, the woes of Wall Street have cost my retirement account a huge hit. Thankfully, I have had some successes with a variety of work from home programs that have supplemented my icome. I will include the links below for anyone interested. Obama has some really big plans, many of which include raising taxes, but I feel he has the best chance to fix this mess. Shame on the banks and mortgage brokers that caused this tailspin in the economy. With the ensueing collapse of the Big 3 on the horizon, can it get any worse? Hold on tight, the bumpy ride has only just begun.

The Election, Money and the US Economy

Will this Election day ever get hear??? The US economy sits and waits on pins and needles awaiting the election of a new leader of the free world. Regardless of who you are voting for, this election can't come any sooner. The market continues to spiral out of control, flushing mine and every other hard working Americans retirement funds down the toilet. Gas prices are starting to fall, near $2.50 as of today, but I just saw that OPEC is going to cut oil production by a million barrels a day to help with the slumping prices at the pump. You mean the 100's of billions of dollars they made last year wasn't enough. OPEC's wallet gets fatter on the backs of the American people. Why be at war in the Middle east if I am still going to have to pay $4/gallon for gas. I can't wait for a new president to get into office so we can stop fighting George W's father's war. Hurry up Novenber 4 and get here, so that the American people can catch their breath and hopefully start writing a new chapter in American history: A Rebuilding of the Mess that this Country has Created for Itself!!
